On Saturday we'll be treated to a powerhouse matchup between two of the league's hottest teams: Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas. Both sides are chasing the Supporters' Shield, and both are riding streaks — Dallas are unbeaten in 19 games (tying the league record), while RSL have not lost at home in 24 outings (a league record).
However, what makes this an intriguing matchup is that the Western Conference foes have found success while playing attractive, flowing soccer — and they can thank their playmakers for that.
For RSL, Javier Morales has eight assists and six goals in league play. His on-the-field vision is unmatched, and he's an absolute killer from set pieces. His counterpart, David Ferreira, is the beating heart of Dallas' midfield, and seemingly everything that FCD create comes through him. His 13 assists this season is second best in the league — and he's tallied eight goals, too.
The pair have proved invaluable for their teams and are undoubtedly MVP candidates. But who would you rather have on your team? Let us know!
