Despite interest, Goodson set to remain at IK Start

Clarence Goodson was called into Bob Bradley's 30-man preliminary roster.

AMSTERDAM ā€” Though Danish suitors Odense BK are still in fee negotiations over his client, the agent for Clarence Goodson says it's looking more and more likely that the US defender will see out the season with IK Start.

The 28-year-old is set to run out of contract in December. Start, who have 12 games remaining in their league campaign, are refusing to budge on their asking price for the former FC Dallas ace.

"We're still at the same point: OB is trying to push it through," Goodsonā€™s agent, Lyle Yorks, told MLSsoccer.com. "To get him for the first phase of the Europa League, they needed to get him by last Monday and that has not happened."

With Goodson into the final months of his deal, he could also opt to ink a contract to move on a free transfer in January, a path his rep says is becoming more likely by the day.

"At this point, if he goes to OB, it will probably be a pre-deal," offered Yorks.

Goodson was a member of the US World Cup 2010 squad but did not get a game in South Africa. His next action for Start arrives with Monday's trip to face third-place VĆ„lerenga.
