World Cup of Wine & Beer charity event a big hit

Kroenke Sports Charities raised over $15,000 in their Third Annual World Cup of Wine and Beer.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. ā€“ Cool air and spitting rain drops failed to dampen the Third Annual Colorado Rapids World Cup of Wine and Beer, as Kroenke Sports Charities raised more than $15,000 on July 7.

The event, which raised money in benefit of children in need of educational, nutritional and recreational programs, had to be moved from the Dickā€™s Sporting Goods Park field to the press lounge. That, however, didnā€™t keep over 200 fans, clients, and friends of the Rapids from happily mingling with Colorado players and coaches as well as enjoying the abundance of free food and alcohol at the annual fundraising event.

Each patron received a wine and beer glass and went from table to table sampling over 50 different wines (donated by Southern Wine & Spirits), eight beers (provided by Heineken USA) and spirits, and even cigars presented by Stanley Papas Cigars.

The patrons also tasted the delicious food provided by Mortonā€™s Steakhouse and Chipotle while taking in the gorgeous panoramic views of the pitch and stadium from the balcony of the press lounge.

Furthermore, guests took part in the silent auction, posed for pictures with the Rapids players and coaches, and purchased Mystery Corks that offered prizes from 80 businesses around the Denver metro area.
