Goodson on his way out of IK Start

Clarence Gooson played two season at Norway's IK Start.

AMSTERDAM ā€“ IK Start defender Clarence Goodson is closing on a transfer move out of Norway after rejecting an offer from Bundesliga risers Kaiserslautern, MLSsoccer.com has learned.

The 28-year old U.S. international is set to run out of contract in December and Start look poised to cash in before it's too late.

Though his agent would not go into details of the surviving bidder, MLSsoccer.com has learned that Danish runners-up Odense BK have been in the running for Goodson.

"Right now, we're in negotiations with another club regarding Clarence," Lyle Yorks told MLSsoccer.com. "That's all I can say on that."

The rep says talks have reached an advanced stage and he is confident that Goodson have found his step up.

"It looks good," Yorks admitted. "The Kaiserslautern deal wasn't right."

In two seasons with Start, Goodson worked 54 league matches. He helped the club to promotion in 2008, and then was among the top-rated Eliteserien defenders in two leading Norwegian papers last term.
