Fire teammates to face off in Guatemala-El Salvador friendly

Chicago Fire Soccer Club midfielders Marco Pappa and Julio Martinez have been named to the Guatemala and El Salvador National Team's roster, respectively, for the friendly match between both teams to take place on March 3 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, CA.

Both players will leave Guadalajara, Mexico, where the Chicago Fire are training as part of the second leg of the club's 2010 Preseason Tour, to join their national teams today. Kickoff for the friendly match is set for 10:00 PM CT. Following the conclusion of the game, both players will reunite with the rest of their Fire teammates in Jackson, MS. for the third leg of preseason.

In the 2009 season, Pappa established himself as one of the club's most exciting players as the Fire signed the midfielder to a permanent deal through 2012 and look forward to having his fluid creativity in the team this season. Meanwhile, Martinez came to the Fire earlier this year to strengthen the team's midfield for the 2010 MLS season, joining his former national team coach and current head coach for the Chicago Fire, Carlos de los Cobos.
