Wizards 1, Revolution 0 -- quote sheet

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 1, NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 0

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH BOB GANSLER

On the win against a quality New England Revolution team:
"It was a good game, the guys played well. They came out of the locker room extremely anxious to get that lead. We pointed out to them that last time we played here we got two goals in four minutes and it was almost there again. We kind of took the wind out of our own sails by not converting the PK, but nevertheless we persevered.

"I feel that it was an exciting game for the fans. It could have just as well been 4-3 as 1-0 because there were chances a plenty on both ends. With quality opponents you have got to play reasonably well to win and we did that."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL

On having the play offensively:
"The last third of the game we were forcing it in. For them to score after four minutes into the game and then they get a penalty it was not a good start."

On the changes that they had to make defensively, inserting Parkhurst into the starting lineup:
"I think the fact that we were forcing the game and we were away from home in Kansas City, who is undefeated, kind of tells you that the backbone of team. We did make changes, we were forced into a couple of changes, but it never knocked us off our straight, we kept pushing forward. But we just never got that break in the penalty box when we needed it. It's just not running for us in the penalty box at the moment."
