RSL 1, Red Bulls 1 -- quote sheet

REAL SALT LAKE 1, NEW YORK RED BULLS 1

REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JOHN ELLINGER

On the tie and Jason Kreis' goal:
"I thought we played well in both halves, and it is unfortunate. Scott Garlick comes over with a huge save, and then they come back with the rebound; it works out in the end though with Jason Kreis getting his first goal of the season and his 101st MLS career goal."

On the corner kicks:
"We work on the defensive runs; it is tight quarters in there. It is easier to defend corners than attack them. We tried a wall play at the beginning of the shot. We were close a lot tonight; I don't even know what the shot count was, but it is frustrating because we played well. We had good possession."

On New York's defense:
"Tony Meola played well for them, I thought, in goal. He has been around so long, he is like Scott Garlick -- his positioning is excellent."

REAL SALT LAKE FORWARD ANDY WILLIAMS

On the team's effort:
"We are here to play for 90 minutes and we shouldn't have been 1-0 down in the first place. But I think everyone did a good job coming back. It was a disappointment to tie our first home game. I think we should have because we created more chances than they did."

On the play of Jason Kreis:
"He's been doing well in practice and I know that in the back of his mind he is thinking about his knee. Hopefully the goal helped him today."

NEW YORK RED BULLS HEAD COACH MO JOHNSTON

On allowing RSL to come from behind:
"We didn't hold the lead and I told our team we should have come away with three points. We closed up shop and then we nearly gave up a goal at the end with Chris Klein. We can't afford to do that."

On the defensive effort:
"It was a silly foul (that led to Kreis' goal). I just told Carlos Mendes that there's no need to foul there. We defended very well for the first 87 minutes. And no one was marking Jason Kreis."

NEW YORK RED BULLS GOALKEEPER TONY MEOLA

On RSL's goal:
"We knew that they were going to come at us for sure. Scott Garlick, for me, had one of the best games I've seen him play in a couple of years. We had as many good chances as they had to score. We gave them a few too many chances and in the end they came through."
