Reserves: Chivas USA 2, RSL 2

CARSON, Calif. - The Chivas USA Reserves (0-0-1) drew 2-2 against Real Salt Lake Reserves (0-0-1) in an exciting match that had plenty of scoring opportunities for both teams. Real Salt Lake wasted no time in getting on the scoresheet, scoring in the very first minute of play when Ryan Johnson blasted home a pass from Joey Worthen.


After the first ten minutes of play it seemed like Real had Chivas USA figured out, however Chivas USA tied the score on a well executed play by Mike Muñoz and Brent Whitfield that ended on a goal by Drew Helm on the 12th minute.


Two minutes later, the Red-and-White scored again, this time on a corner kick by Rodrigo López that Ezra Hendrickson headed in. From then on, the game went back and forth with both teams providing plenty of scoring opportunities, until the end of the first half.


At the beginning of the second half, as the rain started pouring down, the opportunities for Real Salt Lake also began to increase. These opportunities were finally culminated with a goal on the 83rd minute for Real. A header by Kevin Novak off a throw-in by Ryan Johnson tied the score at two.
