SECAUCUS, N.J. - Red Bull New York announced today that the Player Development System will have Academy teams in the following age groups for the 2006-2007 season: Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18. Tryouts will be held on Saturday June 24th and Sunday June 25th for the Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 Red Bulls Academy teams.
"The Academy teams have achieved great success in a short time," said Red Bulls Director of Youth Soccer & Player Development Giovanni Savarese. "In 2006 the Under 16 team won the Super Y League North American Championship and the Under 14 team advanced to the Semi-Finals. This year the Under 17 team recently won the New Jersey State Cup and the current Under 14 team sits atop the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Super Y League. So we will look to build on this success and continue developing players."
