HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo Academy has started off on the right foot, with its U-18 team earning a 1-0 victory this afternoon over Houstonians Football Club, in a match played in the South campus of San Jacinto Community College.

The Dynamo put itself on the board early. At the 3rd minute of action, Tyler Miles would score the first-ever goal for the academy, thanks to a great assist by Samir Peña. Peña would filter in a ball to the middle of the box, only to have Miles finish off the play for the 1-0 advantage.

Although Houstonians had numerous attempts to capitalize during the first half, goalkeeper Romel Morales came through for the team on every occasion, thus sending his team off with the lead at the half.

During the second half, both teams continued looking to score, but were unable to do so.

The Dynamo Academy program includes two teams (U-15 and U18) made up of the top players from South Texas. This program offers the best players the best chance to develop and potentially sign a pro contract with the Dynamo. It also provides the highest level of training and competition available.
