First XI: U.S. forward Brian Ching

that's when I know he plays his best, and if that is in L.A., great. He is easy to play with because he understands other players' strengths and plays into them making them better as well.

2. Who keeps you posted on what's going on with Houston? What's the mood there been like since you've been gone?

BC: Everyone. I talk with most of the guys and Dom (head coach Dominic Kinnear) at one time or another. They are like my family so we are never really out of contact for very long. Things are getting hotter there. It was really unfortunate that Dwayne (De Rosario) and Adrian (Serioux) both got hurt the next week, and now Brad (Davis). Considering we got two results on the road against good teams, the mood is good.

1. Finally, what are your personal and team goals for the World Cup?

BC: My personal goal is to obviously get on the field and help the team win. Like I said before, I am not just happy to be here -- I want to make a difference. For the team, we are focused on getting out of the first round and then taking things from there.
