Fire trade Ryan Johnson to San Jose

The Chicago Fire announced that it has traded the MLS rights to former forward Ryan Johnson in exchange for the San Jose Earthquakes' 2010 natural fourth round supplemental draft pick.

Drafted in the third round (26th overall) by Real Salt Lake in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, Johnson played seven games before being traded to the Fire for former defender Jack Stewart. Johnson appeared in three games for 46 minutes before he was placed on Chicago's Right of First Refusal list on March 3, 2007. Johnson then played for Östers IF (Sweden) before signing with his current team, the New Jersey Ironmen of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
