FC Dallas 2, Galaxy 1 -- quote sheet

FC DALLAS 2, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 1

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP

On the match:
"It was a frustrating night for all but I'll say that another time you do end up scoring more than the one goal. We had chances before they scored the first goal with Nate (Jaqua) and Chris (Albright) but the penalty changed the game and then we were caught on a set play."

On the character his team showed:
"Effort wise, I can't fault them. Execution, there are a few things that we need to work on that were missing this evening. But the team showed character to get back in the game but the goal came too late for us to really have time to try and get that second one."

On the play of Robbie Findley off the bench:
"He's dangerous and he has a few things to learn about the game, but he's a great athlete, he's brave and he showed that on the goal. Good leap, good header."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD ROBBIE FINDLEY

On his first career goal:
"It was a good service by Landon (Donovan) and I'm not sure if I was marked but I was able to get open and put it away in the corner."

On the joy of scoring his first goal, but the disappointment of losing the match:
"It would have been a lot better of course if we had won but I'm glad to have scored my first goal as a professional; but I know that this is mostly about wins."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY DEFENDER MIKE RANDOLPH

On making his MLS debut:
"It was great. It would have been better if we had won, but it was a great experience just to get out there and I thought we played well and were a little unlucky not to get something out of it."

On what instructions he was given before coming on:
"I just didn't want to mess anything up and keep pushing hard and attacking hard. My biggest thing was not to lose the ball and I think that I was successful in that."

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH STEVE MORROW

On the game:
"It's our first win at The Home Depot Center, and that's a big positive for us. Also I think it's good for the team mentally to overcome that hurdle and we spoke about that before the game. I threw out to the players that hadn't won here and challenged the players to come out here and enjoy that challenge and they did. I'm pleased with the results, pleased with the win. I think there's more to come from this team. We defended very well going forward we can possess the ball a lot better and cause teams even more trouble."

On his lineup changes:
"We looked closely at what L.A. had and we adjusted accordingly. We made some changes also so we can go forward. All the guys are ready to play and when we make changes I want all the guys to contribute all through the season. Tonight we showed that we have strength and depth as well."

On playing at New York:
"It's tough for us but the players are not complaining. We're ready for the challenge again and we knew from the beginning that we would have these three games on the road. Undefeated in two games and we want to continue that in New York."

FC DALLAS MIDFIELDER RAMON NUNEZ

On performance:
"It was a great win. In the first half we got the two goals and we were able to maintain it."

On formation changes:
"My position was pretty much the same role as opposed to other formations. I felt I got the ball often and when I got the ball we created things."

On the difference from last game:
"We were able to keep the lead until halftime and that gave us momentum going into the second half."

On FCD's ball possession:
"Once we get the ball and we move it around it's hard for the other team to possess it and get it. That gives us less defending and gives the other team less chances to come at us."

On starting a winning streak:
"We have to prepare ourselves mentally and physically, we have to take care of our bodies. The next game is important and I feel that if we can get pass the next one we have a couple of home games ahead of us and that important to us."

FC DALLAS GOALKEEPER SHAKA HISLOP

On FCD's first win over the Galaxy at The Home Depot Center:
"It was [a 5-2 L.A. win] last season. It was a completely different set of circumstances. We had already made it to the playoffs and we had already made it to the top seed in the west, so our motivations were a little bit different. This time around it came very early in the season and we had a very good result against Salt Lake on Saturday and we felt that we had to build on that. We started this campaign with three games on the road and we knew that it would be tough but if we kept ourselves well then it would give us a great foundation to build on, and we've done exactly that thus far."

On FCD's defense:
"We were determined not to give anything away and we didn't. Every ball that they got they had to fight for. Every shot that they got they really had to battle for. We didn't want to give up any gifts and with the strikers we have we felt that we could come away with this result. We scored two great goals in the first half. In the second half we knew it would be a matter of standing up and staying calm against a forceful Galaxy attack and we did. Hats off to the defense for the way they stood up to it."
