Dynamo adds three more players to its Player Development System

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo has added three more players to its Player Development System (DPDS), signing Jorge Escobar, Samir Peña, and Jon Paul Pérez.

The team's new Player Development System, almost a month old, now has a total of 9 players in its ranks.

"This is very exciting", said Escobar. "It's all a matter of putting in the work now, and making my dream of playing for the Dynamo a reality."

"This is a dream come true. I am thankful that the Dynamo have set their sights on me and given me an opportunity to show what it is that I can really do. I can't wait to start playing", said Peña.

Escobar and Peña will be playing for the DPDS' U-18 squad, while Pérez will be playing for the team's U-15 division. Both Escobar and Peña are expected to graduate from High School in 2009, while Pérez is expected to do so in 2010.

Escobar currently plays center midfielder for Hightower High School in Missouri City, while at a club level he does so for Eclipse Soccer Club. Peña, on the other hand, plays forward for North Shore High School and Houstonians at a club level. Perez plays both as a forward/midfielder for Tomball High School and Texans FC.

"The fact that I can play two positions helps me greatly on the field", said Perez. "Now that I am involved with the Dynamo, I hope to grow even more, and someday play for the Dynamo."

"I selected these three players based on three factors: talent, desire and dedication. I think they all have the potential to progress and develop in the academy", said Houston Dynamo Director of Youth Development James Clarkson.
