With a 2-1 aggregate goal victory over the New York Red Bulls, D.C. United has earned the right to host the 2006 Eastern Conference Final. The Black-and-Red will face off against the New England Revolution on Sunday, November 5 at 4 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast live on espn2. Sunday's contest will be a rematch of one of the best games in Major League Soccer history - the 2004 Eastern Conference Final, when D.C met New England at RFK Stadium. After the two teams played to a 3-3 draw in regulation, United topped New England on penalty kicks and went on to capture its fourth MLS Cup championship. United is 3-0 all-time against the Revolution in the MLS Cup playoffs. Prior to 2004, the Black-and-Red beat New England 4-1 and 1-1 (4-3 PK) in a best-of-three series in 1997. D.C. went on to win its second MLS Cup championship that year.
