Chivas USA defeat Cal 2-1in scrimmage

Chivas USA defeated the University of California 2-1 in a scrimmage played today on University Field 1 at The Home Depot Center. Goals by Ante Razov and Esteban Arias gave the Red-and-White the win over the Bears. The game was also the first full match for midfielder John O'Brien's since being acquired by Chivas USA earlier this month.


Chivas USA's first goal came at the fifth minute, when Ante Razov fired a 10-yard left-footer into the net. Cal pulled even in the 52nd with a goal by Mike Nieraeth off an assist by Nick Hatzke, but Esteban Arias would give Chivas USA the win in the 64th minute with an eight-yard blast following a pass from Jason Hernández.
