Wizards 1, Chivas USA 1 -- quote sheet

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 1, CHIVAS USA 1

CHIVAS USA COACH, JAVIER 'ZULLY' LEDESMA:
"I don't think that this result it's good for our team, because we always go for a victory, but under the current circumstances, the tie its not bad at all."

About his team:
"I feel the boys are working really hard, trying to revert the bad start of the team. I hope that as the time goes by and they get more games, they will gain confidence and better understanding among themselves and we will have better results."

Chivas USA defender Ryan Suarez:

"I can tell you that tonight a Mexican team was better than a German team and that does not happen too often, because Kansas City has a German coach that plays a very defensive and very well organized style. They like to counter, but I feel that we played very well and I hope that we are going to win next Saturday in Chicago."

About the different attitude by teammates under a new coach:
"Yes, I think that we played with more discipline and a more direct style. Tonight, we dedicated this game to Thomas Rongen, because this is the team he built, and we wanted to fight and get a win for him."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH BOB GANSLER

On his team's physical condition:
"There was evidence that this is our third game in eight days. The body is willing and I think we worked hard and weren't out battled and all of that. But it was tough to execute, we would control the ball, move it, and then that last pass wouldn't come or the possibility for the shot was somehow wasted. So we didn't execute as well as we know we can - and have in the last couple of games. So you've got to cut them a little slack - there's a lot of lactic acid floating around in a lot of bodies here. So we've just got to regroup, take care of our bodies, and strap it on again on Saturday. I think we'll be alright."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS MIDFILEDER DIEGO GUTIERREZ

On the game:
"We can't disrespect Chivas and think we're going to walk all over them. We knew it was going to be a difficult game because they just had a coaching change and they're a team that has been, in the past couple days, energized. Every tie has a different taste, and we don't like the taste of this one. We think we didn't play well. We feel we didn't play the way we wanted to play in order to get the three points. And a faster pace and up-tempo style we pretty much the whole night played at their pace, with the exception of a few sprints, and we actually created opportunities. So we'll take he point and we'll learn from this game."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS DEFENDER JOSÉ BURCIAGA JR.

On his goal:
"I couldn't send a cross because EZ [Ezra Hendrickson] was covering my angle. All I was just trying to was to hit it far post, and it went in. So I guess this is my home field, if you want to call it that."
