Weekly update: Revolution coming

Chivas USA will host the New England Revolution on Friday July 22, at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) at The Home Depot Center. The game will be broadcast live through Fox Sports Net West 2, Radiovisa 830 AM Spanish Radio and www.CDCHIVASUSA.com. The game will also be broadcast through KAZA Azteca 54 on Sunday, July 24.


BANK OF AMERICA PROMOTION: Bank of America will be giving away free Chivas USA T-shirts to the first 10,000 people to attend this Friday's Chivas USA game versus the New England Revolution at the Home Depot Center.

FRIENDLY VERSUS THE SEAHORSES: Chivas USA will hold an exhibition match against the Southern California Seahorses of the Premier Development League (PDL) next Saturday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. PT at the stadium of La Mirada High School, located at 13520 Adelfa Dr., La Mirada, CA 90638, near Rosecrans Ave. and La Mirada Blvd.


JUAN PABLO GARCIA IS HERE: Forward Juan Pablo García arrived in Los Angeles, following his participation with the Mexican National Team in the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The 23-year-old Guadalajara native will train for the first time with Chivas USA and Saturday's game against the Seahorses could mark García's Chivas USA debut.


WITH A FULL SQUAD: Chivas USA will train tomorrow with their full squad now that Douglas Sequeira is done with his international duties with the Costa Rican team who participated in this year's edition of the CONCACAF's Gold Cup. Sequeira will be back in Carson on Tuesday, July 19, and will joining the team for training. Also present in Chivas USA's practices starting tomorrow will be two players on trial with the Red-and-White: defender-midfielder Héctor 'El Pirata' Castro and goalkeeper Sergio García 'Matute'.


LAST GAME: Chivas USA played the Los Angeles Galaxy last Friday July 16, in the third edition of the Honda Súper Clásico. The game ended with a 2-0 victory over Chivas USA with 2 goals by Hérculez Gómez in front of 27,000 fans. Chivas USA has a record of (2-14-3) with 9 points, which leaves them in the last slot of the Western Conferece table, 4 points behind Real Salt Lake.


AGAINST GALAXY IN THE U.S. OPEN CUP: Chivas USA will go on to the Fourth Round the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after winning their Third Round game 3-2 against the Charlotte Eagles in North Carolina, with goals by Esteban Arias, Thiago Martins and Isaac Romo at the 120th-minute of extra time. With this first victory in Chivas USA's debut in the U.S. Open Cup the Red-and-White will go on to the Fourth Round against the Galaxy on August 3, at The Home Depot Center's Track and Field stadium.


CHIVAS USA SOCCER ACADEMY: Chivas USA continues with its soccer academy in its player development efforts, at The Home Depot Center. There are more than 80 soccer players between the ages of 5 and 12 under the direction of Chivas USA Director of Soccer Dennis te Kloese. The Chivas USA Soccer Academy takes place two times a week.


CHIVAS GUADALAJARA LOSES TO MADRID: Chivas de Guadalajara played their first preseason friendly last Saturday July 16, against Spain's Real Madrid at Solider Field in Chicago, Illinois. The game ended 3-1 in favor of Madrid with goals by Álvaro Mejía, José María Gutiérrez, Roberto Saldado and a goal by Chivas Guadalajara's Juan Francisco Palencia.


WHATS NEXT: This year's All Star game will be celebrated on July 30, at Crew Stadium with the absence of Chivas USA players since none of its them were nominated to participate. Three days after the All Star game Chivas will then play the Galaxy on August 3, for the Forth Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Then the Red-and-White will visit Real Salt Lake on August 6, at Rice-Eccles in Salt Lake City, Utah.
