Weekly update: Quick turnaround

Up next, Kansas City: The MetroStars are in the midst of their busiest stretch of the season with five games in 14 days. In the first game of the stretch the MetroStars drew with the Revolution 2-2, and on Wednesday they will play the second of those five games in Kansas City, against the Wizards.

Included in the stretch are road trips to Kansas City, Columbus and Los Angeles and home games against the Revolution and the Chicago Fire.

The Metros return home when they host the Chicago Fire on May 31 at 6:30 p.m. ET at Giants Stadium.

Tickets are available for all MetroStars home games at the Continental Airlines Arena box office and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets will also be available through Ticketmaster by phone for callers in New Jersey (201-507-8900), New York (212-307-7171), and for Spanish-speaking customers throughout New York and New Jersey (212-307-4757).

Metros draw with Revs: The MetroStars battled the MLS-leading New England Revolution to a 2-2 tie at Giants Stadium last Saturday. Eddie Gaven and John Wolyniec tallied goals for the Metros in the draw.

Three in two for Gaven: Gaven's goal against the Revs was his third in the last two games, having scored twice against the Fire on April 14.

Wolyniec's big return: Wolyniec's tally in the 83rd came just three minutes after he subbed in for Youri Djorkaeff. He had missed the previous three games with a hip flexor injury. The goal was his first of '05.

Ward records first pro assist: Rookie Tim Ward assisted on Gaven's goal versus the Revolution, after sending a low cross through traffic in the box that Gaven hammered home.

MetroStars on TV: Wednesday, May 25: MetroStars @ Kansas City Wizards - FSNY, 8:00 p.m. ET; Saturday, May 28: MetroStars @ Columbus Crew - MSG 7:30 p.m. ET.

Metro soccer report: MSG will air the Metro Soccer Report this week on Thursday at 10:30 p.m. ET. The show will also re-run four more times (on Friday at 6:30 p.m., Friday at 11:00 p.m. ET and on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET and 6:30 p.m. ET).

Career high for Wells: MetroStars goalkeeper Zach Wells earned his career high for saves with nine this weekend against the Revolution. Wells currently ranks second in the league in goals against average standing at 1.0. New England goalkeeper Matt Reis leads the league with a .88 Goals Against Average.

Metros defense: The Metros defense is tied with the Revolution's defense for the fewest goals allowed in MLS - with seven.

Assist streak for Mags: MetroStars forward Mike Magee has tallied an assist in both of the MetroStars last two games. The two assists he has already garnered this year is half the total that he accumulated last season.

Bradley vs. the Wizards: Over his first seven years as a head coach in Major League Soccer, MetroStars skipper Bob Bradley has a 14-5-2 record against the Kansas City Wizards. His record against Kansas City's coach Bob Gansler is 11-4-2.

Woly vs. the Wizards: MetroStars forward John Wolyniec has amassed eight assists in his MLS career - four of those have come against the Kansas City Wizards.

A first for Lisi: MetroStars midfielder Mark Lisi registered his first assist of the season on Saturday when we was credited with the second assist on John Wolyniec's goal.

Abbe's ups and downs: Saturday was a day of highs and lows for MetroStars rookie Abbe Ibrahim.

First the Junior International from Togo earned his first start on Saturday and he registered a career high in shots (four). Despite these great achievements for the youngster, he was ejected later in the game after receiving two yellow cards. He is now suspended for the Metros next match versus the Wizards.

Bradley's back: MetroStars Head Coach Bob Bradley, who is the winningest coach in MLS history, is entering his third season with the "Red and Black." He has an overall record of 24-24-19 with the Metros. He has led the club to the post season in both of his seasons at the helm.
