GALAXY POST SOLID PERFORMANCE IN 2-0 DEFEAT OF FC DALLAS: The Los Angeles Galaxy made a strong statement that they're the team to beat in the Western Conference this season, scoring a pair of first-half goals on their way to a 2-0 victory against FC Dallas on Saturday night at The Home Depot Center. Landon Donovan gave the Galaxy an early lead, then Peter Vagenas doubled it just before the break as the Galaxy sent FC Dallas crashing to their first loss of the season.

STARS FROM GALAXY'S FIRST DECADE GET ONE MORE CHANCE TO LACE UP THE BOOTS: The Los Angeles Galaxy have proclaimed its 10th season a "Decade of Stars." Saturday, the club brought back some key players from days gone by to kick the ball around The Home Depot Center field in the club's first Galaxy Alumni game, played before the Galaxy-FC Dallas match. Some of the club's brightest stars, such as Mauricio Cienfuegos, Paul Caligiuri and Alexi Lalas, made their appearance as well as other players such as Dan Calichman, Danny Pena, Ivan Polic and Harut Karapetyan. Also playing in the match were German national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann, a former technical advisor with the Galaxy, and former goalkeeper coach Zak Abdel.

CLUB WELCOMES THREE-MILLIONTH FAN: The Los Angeles Galaxy became the first Major League Soccer club in history to reach three million fans Saturday night at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills. The momentous milestone occurred prior to the Galaxy's game against FC Dallas when Rich Nelson entered the stadium's Southwest gate along with his son Eric. In celebration, the Nelsons became the special guests of the Galaxy for the evening. They were treated to club seats and an array of gifts such as a seven-day, six-night houseboat trip in Lake Powell, AZ, courtesy of AAA, and a one-year free subscription to Comcast standard cable and high-speed Internet service. Other sponsors who contributed were Farmer John, Albertson's, Kragen, FSN, and La Curacao. The Galaxy were the first club in MLS to draw two million fans, surpassing that milestone in their second home game of the 2002 season (April 6 against the Chicago Fire). They also reached the one million-fan milestone before anyone else, when they drew more than 50,000 spectators to a match on July 4, 1998 against the Kansas City Wizards.
