SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SOCCER FANS, MLS CUP 2004 IS THIS SUNDAY AT THE HOME DEPOT CENTER: Southern California Soccer Fans are encouraged to come out to see American soccer's finest in MLS Cup 2004, pitting the Western Conference champion Kansas City Wizards and the Eastern Conference champion D.C. United, will be played at The Home Depot Center in Carson this Sunday, November 14 at 12:30 pm (PT).
MLS' ninth championship game will feature the explosiveness of the Eastern Conference Champions and their young phenom Freddy Adu against the veteran savvy of Josh Wolff and the rest of the Wizards. The clubs met twice during the 2004 regular season and split the series with each winning once by a 1-0 margin, D.C. grabbing a win in a match at RFK Stadium on May 15 and Kansas City defending their home field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 10.
Southland soccer fans unable to attend the match in person should be aware that it will be televised LIVE nationally on ABC Sports (KABC - Channel 7 in the L.A. area) and will be available locally on the radio in Spanish on KMXE 830 AM.

L.A. GALAXY'S 2004 CAMPAIGN CONCLUDES IN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP WITH LOSS TO KANSAS CITY: Despite solid, attacking play from the Los Angeles Galaxy throughout the match, the Kansas City Wizards showcased team defending while counting on a Davy Arnaud strike in each half, knocking off the Galaxy 2-0 on November 5 at Arrowhead Stadium to win the Western Conference Championship and earn a place in MLS Cup 2004. The Wizards earned the second trip to the MLS Cup Final in club history, looking to repeat their victory in MLS Cup 2000, when they beat the Chicago Fire. The Galaxy, meanwhile end their season just one step from hosting the championship match on their home pitch.
D.C. UNITED GETS BY NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION ON PENALTY KICKS TO TAKE EAST, ADVANCES TO MLS CUP: Three times D.C. United struck, and three times the New England Revolution responded. But they had no final answer in a gripping penalty kick shootout that sent United to their first MLS Cup in five years, winning the shootout 4-3 and clinching the Eastern Conference Championship after the teams played to a 3-3 tie over 120 minutes at RFK Stadium on November 6. Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis had earned a reputation as a penalty stopper in getting his club to the Eastern Conference Championship. And while he saved two penalties in the six-round shootout, United 'keeper Nick Rimando stopped two of his own, including the last kick from Clint Dempsey that put D.C. United their fifth MLS Cup.
MAS GALAXY PREVIEWS MLS CUP 2004: Más Galaxy, the club's Spanish-Language radio talk show, which airs each Wednesday at 8 pm on KMXE 830 AM, will give fans an inside look at MLS Cup 2004, with scheduled guests from both the Kansas City Wizards and D.C. United. The program, hosted by Troy Santiago and Rigoberto Cervantez, will feature analysis by both Santiago and Cervantez.
