Chung, Califf, Aloisi Make Home Debuts
Quakes midfielder Mark Chung and defenders Danny Califf and Chris Aloisi made their home debuts for the Earthquakes on Saturday against D.C. United. Chung had played three road games since being acquired on May 20, but had yet to don an Earthquakes jersey at Spartan Stadium. Califf missed the first eight games due to a knee sprain, but had started and played 90 minutes on May 25 at Colorado and May 28 at Kansas City. The match against D.C. was also his home debut. Aloisi made his Earthquakes debut on May 21 at the Home Depot Center against the Los Angeles Galaxy and later started in Colorado and Kansas City, but June 4 was his first game at Spartan Stadium.

A First For Nash
Quakes rookie forward Julian Nash, a San Leandro, Calif. native and former San Leandro High School star, made his debut on Saturday against D.C. United. The former Creighton University forward entered as a sub for Ronald Cerritos in the 79th minute, making him the eighth player to make his Quakes debut in 2005.

Robinson, Califf Form Tough Duo
Since Danny Califf was inserted into the Quakes starting lineup alongside Eddie Robinson in central defense on May 25 against Colorado, the Quakes have allowed just one goal in three games, posting two shutouts in that span.

Onstad Continues Strong Play
Quakes goalkeeper Pat Onstad continued his strong play on Saturday against D.C. United, posting his fourth shutout of the season. Since a 2-2 tie against Real Salt Lake on April 30, Onstad has posted four shutouts in six games and allowed only three goals. For the season, he is now tied for third in the league in shutouts and is second in saves with 46. He has also lowered his goals against average to 1.27 for the season.

Drought at Spartan
Neither the Quakes nor their opponents have scored a goal at Spartan Stadium since the 57th minute of the Quakes win over Kansas City on April 23, 2005. The scoreless streak at Spartan Stadium now sits at 213 minutes, as the Quakes have played two consecutive 0-0 ties (May 14 against FC Dallas and June 4 vs. D.C. United) at Spartan Stadium. San Jose has played two straight scoreless games at Spartan Stadium twice before, on June 28 and July 5, 2003 as well as on September 25 and October 9, 2004.

Depleted Quakes
The Earthquakes currently have four starters out of action. Defenders Craig Waibel (torn right ACL/LCL) and Troy Dayak (torn left ACL) will be gone for the remainder of the season with their injuries. Brian Ching (right hamstring strain) and Brian Mullan (left ankle avulsion fracture) have also been out of action, although the duo is expected back in two to three weeks.

Feeling It In June
Mark Chung has been more dangerous in the month of June than any other Quakes player with 10 goals and 15 assists. June is midfielder Ian Russell's best month also, with two goals and six assists in his career. Pat Onstad has a 0.73 goals against average in June, his personal second best month in the GAA category.

Moreno Hot On Road
In 2005, Moreno has scored three goals with all three coming on the road in the final 15 minutes of the game. Moreno scored on April 16 at Chicago, April 30 in Salt Lake City, and on May 25 at Colorado.

Home Sweet Home
After a grueling road trip in May with four games on the road and a 2-2-0 record, the Quakes will have the home advantage at Spartan Stadium for four out of their five games in June. The Quakes tied D.C. United 0-0 on June 4 and will face Real Salt Lake on June 18, the Los Angeles Galaxy on June 25, and the Colorado Rapids on June 29 at Spartan Stadium.

League Leaders
• Brian Ching and Ronald Cerritos are tied for eighth in MLS in goals scored with four. • Brad Davis leads MLS with six assists. Dwayne De Rosario is tied for fourth in assists with four.

Fouls Committed, Fouls Suffered
After eight games in 2005, San Jose leads MLS in both fouls committed (213) and fouls suffered (208). In their season opener against New England on April 2, San Jose set the team record with 30 fouls committed.
