RSL RESERVES TALLY SECOND WIN AGAINST THE SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES: With a group of players tallying more than 41,000 minutes of Major League Soccer playing time, Real Salt Lake reserves (2-5-1, 7 pts.) added its second win of the season in a 2-1 win against the San Jose Earthquakes (4-2-2, 14pts.) at Trailside Park in Park City, Utah. RSL's two goals were scored by MF Clint Mathis and FW Adam Acosta, while FW Julian Nash notched the lone goal for the Earthquakes.

San Jose tested RSL goalkeeper D.J. Countess early in the first half, scoring in the 6th minute when DF Noah Merl played a through ball into the center for FW Julian Nash who slotted a left-footed shot to the right of Countess. Just 25 minutes later, MF Adolfo Gregorio started a series of one-touch passes, connecting with FW Jamie Watson, who slipped the ball to Mathis. Mathis then found FW Dante Washington on a give-and-go as Mathis, the 2002 U.S. World Cup star, rocked a shot past Earthquakes 'keeper Jon Conway in the 31st minute ending the first half 1-1.

RSL began the second half with a flurry of substitutions to add to its push for its second win of the season. Both teams battled for possession and for the game winning goal throughout the second half with the final goal coming in stoppage time. DF Seth Trembly gave a ball to Watson, who dribbled down the left side of the box, juked Conway and then dished the ball to Acosta, who tallied what proved to be RSL's game-winning goal.
