Weekly update: Crew to hold camp

COLUMBUS, Ohio - New Crew Head Coach Sigi Schmid and his coaching staff will begin a 12-day mini-camp starting tomorrow morning in Columbus. The mini-camp will run from Oct. 31 through Nov. 11, with the majority of the team in town, as well as potential trialists. Practice will take place at The Crew's training facility at Obetz. If there is inclement weather, the team will train at Capital or inside at the Sports Barn at Easton.

FAN FORUM SET FOR WEDNESDAY, NOV. 9, AT THE CREW STADIUM HUNTINGTON CLUB
Crew General Manager Mark McCullers announced that The Crew will host a Fan Forum in The Crew Stadium Huntington Club on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 7-8 p.m. The Fan Forum will give any Crew fan who wishes to attend an opportunity to interact and ask questions to Crew management, Crew coaches and Crew players. Among those participating in the Fan Forum are McCullers, Crew Head Coach Sigi Schmid and select Crew players. Clark Hunt may also be in attendance to participate. The Crew will provide free beverages and snacks.


NOV. 9 WILL ALSO INCLUDE AN OPEN PRACTICE AND SEAT SELECTION FOR THE 2006 SEASON
Crew Soccer Nation members and non-members can attend Crew Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 9, to watch The Crew practice and to select new seats or upgrade their current seats for the 2006 season. All Crew Soccer Nation members who attend will be entered to win prizes, including a 2005 team autographed ball, a 2005 team autographed jersey and more. New Crew Soccer Nation members who purchase season tickets on Nov. 9 will be entered in a drawing to win a catered suit for a 2006 home game. Additional Crew prizes will be given to all those in attendance.


LOOKING AHEAD TO 2006, TWO FIRST-ROUND SUPERDRAFT PICKS AWAIT TEAM
After not making the playoffs this season, The Crew organization is looking ahead to 2006. The team will get an immediate influx of talent at the 2006 MLS SuperDraft as The Crew owns two first round picks in the SuperDraft. The Crew owns the third selection and Colorado's first-round pick acquired in the Jeff Cunningham trade. The Colorado pick has changed as the Rapids have advanced to the Western Conference Finals.


PASION DE GOL SET FOR THURSDAY AT 5 P.M. ON RADIO SOL, 1550-AM
Crew Assistant Coach Eduardo "Eddie" Carvacho hosts Pasion de Gol (Passion for Goals), an hour-long soccer show every Thursday from 5-6 p.m. on Spanish radio station Radio Sol, 1550-AM. Radio Sol is also the Spanish radio play-by-play home for all Crew home games. The show is geared toward The Crew and Major League Soccer, as well as the numerous Hispanic players, coaches and administrators around the league and country.
