Weekly update: Cotton Bowl closer

FC Dallas

FC Dallas (10-2-3) vs. San Jose (5-3-6) at 7:30 p.m. (CST) - Cotton Bowl

FC DALLAS LOOKS TO FINISH PERFECT AT COTTON BOWL IN 2005: FC Dallas has begun the 2005 MLS season with a 5-0-0 record at home after their 2-1 victory over Chivas USA last Wednesday. The five-game home winning streak to begin this season is the longest in team history to begin a season. As they head into their next home match on Saturday versus San Jose, FC Dallas will look to join four other MLS teams in the league's history who posted 18 out of a possible 18 points in their first six matches at home (2000 Kansas City, 2000 Tampa Bay, 2001 Miami, 2002 San Jose).

HISTORIC BEGINNING: FC Dallas is now 10-2-3 for 33 points and are nine points ahead of the Los Angeles Galaxy for first place in the Western Conference. The 33 points lead all of Major League Soccer as New England leads the Eastern Conference with 31 points (9-1-4). The 33 points after 15 matches ties for the third best start in MLS history. Other historic beginnings after 15 matches in MLS history come from the 1998 Los Angeles Galaxy (13-2 w/ 1 SOW for 37 points), the 2001 Miami Fusion (11-1-3 for 36 points) and the 2000 Kansas City Wizards (10-2-3 for 33 points).
