Tigres crowned InterLiga champions

Jaime Lazano (R) was the hero for Tigres in their overtime win over Monterrey.

this time they finished it. Silvera collected a cross and hit a powerful first-time volley on net. Orozco made the save, but the rebound rolled right out in front of the net and Lozano followed up with a shot. A deflection off of the foot of Monterrey defender Felipe Baloy carried the ball into the back of the net.

A few frantic moments in front of the Tigres net highlighted the second overtime period. The best chance fell to Antonio Di Nigris who had a sharp angle shot from inside the six, but Rodriguez was well positioned and made the save.

In one final hurrah, Navia picked up his second yellow card three minutes before time, leveling the sides at 10 men apiece.

Guadalajara and Veracruz will meet in the second InterLiga final, also set for Sunday at The Home Depot Center. The winner will advance to a playoff with Chilean side Colo Colo.
