Tickets for Earthquakes U.S. Open Cup match against the Los Angeles Galaxy on sale at 4:00 p.m. PT on August 5

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that tickets for the team's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against the Los Angeles Galaxy will go on sale on Friday, August 5 at 4:00 p.m. PT. The game will serve as bonus game "B" for Earthquakes season ticket holders. The quarterfinal match against the Galaxy will be Wednesday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. PT at Spartan Stadium.


The Quakes reached the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers in the fourth round on August 3. Wade Barrett and Brian Mullan each scored goals in the win. The Quakes will take on the Galaxy for the fourth time in Open Cup history, with the Galaxy having won the three previous games. The teams last met in the U.S. Open Cup in 2002 with the Galaxy earning a 1-0 win at Spartan Stadium on August 7.


Overall in Open Cup play, the Quakes have a 10-7 record and have outscored opponents 34-15 in those matches. Last season, San Jose reached the semifinals of the tournament for the first time in team history.


Tickets for the Earthquakes - Galaxy game are $45 (VIP), $30 (West Sideline), $16 (East Sideline and Corners) and $13 (Endzone).
