COLORADO RAPIDS 2, NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION 0

COLORADO RAPIDS HEAD COACH FERNANDO CLAVIJO

On the game:
"You have New England most of the season playing a 3-5-2 and today they played a 4-5-1 which freaked us out a little bit. We could not get the momentum, we could not penetrate and the chances they had at the beginning were because we lost possession in the middle of the park. I did not come into this game to get a point, so we made some adjustments and went with three in the back."

On not giving the penalty kick to Fabrice Noel:
"(Jean Philippe) Peguero and Kyle (Beckerman) were the two guys who went and grabbed the ball. I think you do not want to give Fabrice too much responsibility right away."

On where the Rapids are now:
"I said all along it's going to be a long season and what matters is how we finish. We have nine games to go and we have a lot of work ahead of us. Today, for the first 75 minutes we were flat and a mistake could have made us pay. We managed to keep them away from our goal and we managed to finish."

COLORADO RAPIDS GOALKEEPER JOE CANNON

On the team's recent success:
"The way this team goes we have turned the corner. We are on a roll and like it or not how far we go is up to us. Hopefully we are not peaking too early, and we are going to continue to work hard in every game and some games we will get better results."

COLORADO RAPIDS FORWARD FABRICE NOEL

On the game:
"I enjoyed the game and I just worked really hard and tried to pressure the defense. I just feel good. I tried to score the goal but the 'keeper just pushed me down and got the red card. I am going to work really hard in practice and do my best for the team."

COLORADO RAPIDS MIDFIELDER ALAIN NKONG

On the game:
"We showed to the league that this team is here to stay. We can beat anyone anywhere. I just had to finish the play (on my goal). When Dedi (David Ben-Dayan) played the ball into (Eric) Denton, I called his name 'Denton!' and he left the ball to the back perfectly for me to finish the play."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH STEVE NICOL

On the game:
"If we take our chances, then it is a different game. We had a great chance in the second half, and they had some chances, but they took their chance and put us under some pressure. We had a tough stretch playing at high altitude and we weren't surprised that the last half of the game would be hard and if we would have taken our chances before that then the game would've been completely different."

On changing tactics:
"Well we can't play 3-5-2 all the time. It is far too much for the two-way players. We have to get box to box which is not easy to do coming off a game down in Dallas. It was fairly straight forward. There wasn't much that we had to think about."

On Daniel Hernandez:
"He picked up good positions and fitted in great."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION MIDFIELDER CLINT DEMPSEY

On playing as a lone forward:
"Yeah it was different but it was the formation the coach wanted us to be put in. He told me just to hold the ball up and try to wait for people to come up and play it to them. So that is what I tried to do."

On the game:
"A loss is a loss. You just have to regroup. And I am looking forward to the next game."

On taking a break:
"Yeah I am tired, ready to take a break. That will be good."

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION GOALKEEPER DOUG WARREN

On coming into the game to try to stop a penalty kick:
"It was obviously a PK and you just have to try to come in and read it well and have to stop it. I thought Peguero disguised it very well and he fooled me to my right. Nothing else to do. Right now I am just looking forward to next week. Should be a good game and that is what I am focusing on."

On the Revs' next game:
"It is coincidence that works that way that I will be playing the next game against my former team D.C. United. But I am looking forward to the game regardless if it is against D.C. or any other team. I am just happy to be going and have a good game next week."

On being a backup goalkeeper:
"It is tough. You have to go to practice every day with a positive attitude and I think I have done that. Hopefully that positive attitude pays off next week when you know you are getting in the game."
