SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 3, REAL SALT LAKE 0

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"It was a dream start for us tonight. The guys came out with an aggressive approach and we created a number of great opportunities. We wanted to attack wide and I think that all three goals came from wing play, so I am pleased about that. Overall, I am just happy for the guys."

On the midfield performance:
"All of our midfielders played well tonight for us and I thought that we really moved the ball around well. In the past few games we have created chances through the midfield but we have not been able to finish them, but tonight we converted our chances."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES DEFENDER KELLY GRAY

On returning to San Jose and making first start:
"It has kind of been a dream come true. I wasn't happy there in Chicago, and I just couldn't have come to a better place. The guys have been so nice and welcoming, and it has been perfect, a dream come true."

On scoring his goal:
"I came in here just trying to have a good performance in my debut. It just happened that Ronald [Cerritos] played me an unbelievable ball, and I was able to get a good touch and have a good shot. It continues the dream that I am in right now."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES DEFENDER WADE BARRETT

On the game:
"It was a great team performance. We looked really comfortable going forward and we were solid defensively. We need to keep playing like that and I think that we can expect good things this season."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES DEFENDER DANNY CALIFF

On the play of San Jose's forwards:
"Ronald (Cerritos) and Alejandro (Moreno) both had excellent games tonight. They were working off each other very well and finding those little spaces to get open. We were able to find them from the back so that allowed us to move the ball more easily."

REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH JOHN ELLINGER

On the game:
"We just didn't come out to play. We didn't clear balls, we didn't trap players. And when you don't do that, they get easy chances and they score goals."

On Real Salt Lake:
"Things need to be sorted out. We sorted them out last week, and then you come out and give up a goal a minute and 18 seconds into the game. I mean that should never happen. You have to get stuck in, you have to have an impact in the game. You can't just stand around waiting for it to come to you."
