• The FireWorks for Kids Foundation (FWFK) will host the 2005 edition of its annual Season Kickoff Luncheon, sponsored by AthletiCo, on Tuesday, Mar. 29 in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Chicago, located at 151 East Wacker Drive. • The Fire's sister team Monarcas Morelia lost its first encounter of the 2005 Clausura season Saturday night, falling 1-0 to Cruz Azul at Estadio Azul in Mexico City. Despite the loss, the "Monarchs" are tied for 1st place (with Tecos) in its division with 10 points (3-1-1).

• Chicago-Fire.com columnist Chris Costello is concerned that Fire captain Chris Armas hasn't been a part of U.S. boss Bruce Arena's recent gameday lineups.

• The West Michigan Fire Juniors last week announced that the club has secured the rights to the West Michigan Edge W-League (Women's) franchise, with immediate effect. The name of the team will be the West Michigan Firewomen.
