Onstad, De Rosario called up to Canadian national team

Earthquakes forward Dwayne De Rosario and goalkeeper Pat Onstad have been called in to the Canadian National Team for a match against Wales on Sunday, May 30. The pair will join head coach Frank Yallop and the rest of the Canadian team on May 25 for training prior to the match. The game is set for 2:30 p.m. local time in Wrexham, Wales.

Onstad, the 2003 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, has appeared 38 times for the Canadian National Team since 1988, last playing for Canada on Oct. 11, 2003 in a loss to Finland in Tampere, Finland. Onstad, 36, has 15 career international shutouts and made his international debut on Feb. 18, 1988 against Bermuda.

De Rosario, 26, has played 17 times for his country, his last appearance coming on January 18, 2004 against Barbados, where he notched an assist on the lone goal of the match to lead Canada to the 1-0 win. He has scored three goals in his international career. De Rosario made his debut on May 18, 1998 against Macedonia.
