Nearly 89,000 fans attend 'Doble Clásico' at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

CARSON, Calif. - Following tonight's match against the Los Angeles Galaxy, in which Chivas USA recorded the second highest attendance in MLS history - with 88,816 fans filling the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for an international doubleheader also featuring Club Deportivo Guadalajara versus Club América - Chivas USA now embarks on a three-week road trip that will include the team's respective debuts in Washington, D.C. (Aug. 13/ESPN2 and KMXE Radiovisa 830 AM) and New York (Aug. 21/KAZA Azteca 54 and KMXE Radiovisa 830 AM), plus the Red-and-White's only game of 2005 at Pizza Hut Park, the new stadium of Western Conference rival FC Dallas.

In addition, the August 21 match against the MetroStars at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will likely mark the MLS debut of the team's latest signings, including Mexican internationals Juan Francisco Palencia and Juan Pablo García.

Chivas USA and its new players will make their return to Southern California to face the Columbus Crew on Saturday, September 3 at The Home Depot Center, in a night featuring a unique international 'doubleheader': the evening kicks off with a massive in-stadium viewing party for the 2006 World Cup qualifying match between the United States and Mexico (4:30 p.m. PT), followed by Chivas USA versus Columbus in the teams' first-ever MLS regular season meeting (7:00 p.m. PT).
