Alejandro Moreno: "It is always nice to score. It means a lot for me to get that first goal for the Earthquakes, it is nice to get that over with and then be able to concentrate on scoring more. At the same time, because of the way the game finished out, it was disappointing."
How do you feel the team played against Chicago?
AM: "We are just disappointed. Even though I was able to score, it doesn't make you feel any better after a game like that. I felt we came out a little bit flat, but still had a chance to pull out the points. We were able to come back there at the end and put some pressure on them and get that tying goal, but again, we were not able to hold on. That is frustrating and we know we need to work on those things at the end of a game to get the points."
The first three games of the season have been frustrating for yourself and the Quakes. How do you feel the team can get better results the rest of the way?
AM: "These games are frustrating and disappointing to us because we feel like we should have done better. It is so frustrating because we have been so close. Everything that has gone wrong has been at the end of games, and we need to figure out a way to buckle down and take care of the little things that lead to these breakdowns. I think everyone knows what we have to do, we need to work harder and pay attention to detail and make sure that for every minute out there, we are not letting down. I think it is so frustrating and upsetting because we know that it can be avoided, and we know that we are better than that."
What do you think were some of the bright spots that came out of the team's play against the Fire?
AM: "I thought on Saturday it obviously wasn't the best game that we have played or we will play. We were not sharp early on, but in the second half we picked it up a bit and did play better than in the first half. We had some opportunities and some chances to get another goal, and we were very nearly able to get out of there with some points on the road."
