MLS players join President Bush in Hispanic Heritage Month celebration

President George W. Bush will be joined by MetroStars midfielder Amado Guevara, D.C. United midfielder Eliseo Quintanilla and former United and MLS star Marco Etcheverry in a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to be held in the East Room of the White House on Wednesday (3 p.m. ET). The event will be emceed by television host Myrka Dellanos. Latin Gospel recording artist Marcos Witt and flamenco dancer Joaquin Cortes will perform and actor Jimmy Smits will also be in attendance.


Among the officials and dignitaries at the event will be Hispanic Administration officials including Counsel to the President Alberto Gonzales, Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roger Noriega, SBA Administrator Hector Barreto, Peace Corps Director Gaddi Vasquez, U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Hans Hertell and Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service Eduardo Aguirre Jr.
