MLS mourns death of Bert Wolstein

Major League Soccer Commissioner and Soccer United Marketing CEO Don Garber on Monday issued the following statement regarding the death of Cleveland-based soccer pioneer Bert Wolstein, who passed away earlier Monday.


"On behalf of Major League Soccer's players, coaches, administrators and ownership, I would like to offer the sincerest condolences to Iris Wolstein and the entire Wolstein family," said Garber. "Bert and his wife Iris have been extraordinarily committed to the development of soccer at all levels in northeast Ohio, and his passion for the game, his unflinching dedication to community service and his pursuit of excellence in all his endeavors -- both professionally and personally -- will never be forgotten."
