MetroStars player development launches elite summer training program

SECAUCUS, N.J. - The MetroStars have announced the launch of their Summer Elite Training Camps. The MetroStars Summer Elite Training Camps are deigned for players aspiring to compete at the highest level.


Various five-day sessions are being offered throughout the Tri-state Area. The camps will run during the summer, with the first session beginning on June 28. Dates and times are dependant on the training site location.


Sites include Connecticut (Fairfield Co.), New York (Ulster Co., Westchester Co.), Long Island (Nassau Co.) and New Jersey (Morris, Middlesex, Ocean and Mercer Co.).


Players 8-16 years old are eligible for the program. Players will be grouped with other players of similar age and skill. The camps will focus on individual techniques and tactics, including speed, fitness and agility training.


This program also serves as a means for identifying players for a potential opportunity with the MetroStars Academy teams.


Each site is limited to just 48 players and will have a player to professional instructor ratio of 12:1.


Strategically placed throughout communities in the Tri-state area, MetroStars Player Development Programs are the best resource for youth soccer players to access high-level training at local clubs. The camp programs have been designed by MetroStars Player Development staff to provide structured training for soccer players to continue their progression through the summer.
