Taylor [Twellman] and Pat [Noonan] are working hard out there, and if the midfield is holding everything up, we can see what is coming at us."

  • "Defense wins games and our defense is playing great right now," Noonan said. "[D.C.] had the better of us in the first half, they were winning second balls, we weren't going forward, we weren't patient with our attack. But we started moving the ball and using our width, and once we do that, we start getting offensive chances. We open the field and start getting space, and with our three midfielders [Clint Dempsey, Andy Dorman, Shalrie Joseph], we are going to get chances."

  • Andy Dorman has been preferred to Cancela for the last two matches in central midfield. "I'm just enjoying my run in the team for the moment,'' Dorman said. "I'm trying to work as hard as I can defensively as well as offensively to help the team.'' Said Nicol: "Andy has come in and has done a great job. It's an ideal situation for me. We have great competition in the squad."
