Metros host 'Career in Sports Night'

SECAUCUS, N.J. - The MetroStars are hosting a "Career in Sports Night" prior to their game on April 22. "Career in Sports Night" will provide students with insider's tips on how to break into the sports industry. The event will feature a panel of high profile sports professionals from various backgrounds. A few of the expected speakers include Nick Sakiewicz, President & General Manager of the MetroStars, Peter Stern, President of Strategic Sports Marketing Group, Steve Cangialosi, Broadcaster for MSG Network, Drew Young, Premium Seats Sales Executive for the Philadelphia Eagles, Fred Mangione, Vice President of Ticket Sales for the New Jersey Nets, Shayne Donahue, Director of Suite Sales for Madison Square Garden and Rodnell Workman, Marketing Manager for the New York Giants.


Each individual will talk about how their careers in the sports industry and offer advice on how to become a top executive in the sports field. Following the presentations attendees will be allowed to mingle with the executives and ask further questions.


The event will start at 5.30 p.m. and will last until game time (8:00 p.m.). The presentations will be held in the Stadium Club at Giants Stadium. Light snacks will be offered during the function. The cost for the night is $26, which includes entrance into the "Career in Sports Night" and the MetroStars match against the Kansas City Wizards.
