Makita signs deal with MLS

Makita will now have a presence at all MLS games.

Soccer United Marketing, Major League Soccer and Makita U.S.A. Incorporated, announced on Monday a new sponsorship agreement that brings the California-based tool manufacturers on board as the newest corporate partner of MLS. Makita also begins a partnership with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) with the agreement.

Makita will take on the role as the exclusive sponsor of both properties in the tool and power tool category. The multi-year deal hands Makita rights to field board signage, print and in-stadium media, as well as in-store promotions with MLS players and members of the Mexican national team.

In addition to their plans to utilize grassroots efforts to target consumers, particularly within the Hispanic American population, Makita will also sponsor MLS ¡Futbolito!, the official 4 v. 4 tournament of Major League Soccer. Makita will run a mobile marketing initiative created and branded around soccer, engaging consumers with their products at games.
