Chivas USA midfielder Rodrigo López has been called up to the United States Under-18 Men's National Team to participate in the upcoming Milk Cup in Northern Ireland. The 18-year-old López, the only professional player on Head Coach Bob Jenkins' 18-man roster, departs today with the U-18's for the prestigious youth tournament, where they will participate from August 1-5.

The team will face Brazil on August 1 and Cameroon on August 3, before playing in the tournament's championship or third-place match on August 5. Also participating in the four-team tournament is host nation Northern Ireland.

A native of Guadalajara and dual U.S.-Mexican citizen, López signed with Chivas USA as a developmental player on July 7. The former Chivas Guadalajara reserves player made his official debut for Chivas USA this past Saturday in La Mirada, California against the Southern California Seahorses, playing 90 minutes and scoring a goal in the Red-and-White's 3-2 exhibition victory over the Premier Development League side.
