GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador - MetroStars.com decided to switch things up a little bit on Monday for their 'on location' update, turning things over to the longest tenured player on the Ecuador trip, Mark Lisi. He selected some images that he thought would show the fans what goes on during time off in Ecuador. Enjoy!

Notes From Training

Time to rest: After four and a half days of tough practice, the MetroStars had Sunday afternoon off. Then the rumors were confirmed when the coaching staff told the players on Sunday night that they would also have all day Monday off. Some of the players took advantage of the day off by making the two-hour trip to the beach, while others received massages in the morning and then went shopping in the afternoon.

Game scheduled for Tuesday: The MetroStars first game of the Ecuador trip will be on Tuesday, when they make the three and a half hour trip to Machala to take on Emelec at 7 p.m. The team will then spend the night in Machala before returning to Guayaquil on Wednesday.

Ecuadorian quick fact of the day: There are over 21,000 species of vascular plants in Ecuador. This compares to 17,000 species found in the whole continent of North America. (source: EcuadorAmazing.com)
