For Klein and Wizards, goal is consistency

Chris Klein

a contest the Wizards failed to close out.

"I remember that one; we were up 2-0 on Columbus and ended up losing the game," Klein said.

Righting past inconsistencies is part of the Wizards' grand design.

"This is a tournament we want to win. From the beginning coach [Wizards' boss Bob Gansler] has talked about taking it very seriously," said Klein. "Our owner's name is on the trophy, and that makes it a little more special to us. And we want to get a trophy. We have two games to go, and we are going to go for it."

Capturing the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title, or at least making the final, would bode well for achieving more in their MLS campaign.

"We're striving for consistency this year, and we've been fairly consistent for most of the season," said Klein. "So this [the Open Cup] is just another step in our process, and that's how we look at it."
