Scoring Summary:
LA -- Tyrone Marshall 1 (Landon Donovan 3) 21
COL -- Jean Philippe Peguero 1 (Chris Henderson 4, Leo Cullen 1) 27
LA -- Landon Donovan 4 (penalty kick) 86
COL -- Jeff Cunningham 3 (penalty kick) 88
LA -- Landon Donovan 5 (penalty kick) 91+

This had to be the most bizarre finish to a game in MLS history. Three penalties in the final five minutes of the game? Two to the Galaxy's Landon Donovan, who makes no mistakes. Let's call this one a trend-setter for the season of the late goal.

Scoring Summary:
NE -- Taylor Twellman 5 (Pat Noonan 1, Steve Ralston 2) 6
MET -- Eddie Gaven 3 (Tim Ward 1, Amado Guevara 2) 16
MET -- John Wolyniec 1 (Mike Magee 2, Mark Lisi 1) 83
NE -- Taylor Twellman 6 (Khano Smith 1) 89

Mike Magee and John Wolyniec enter a tie game for the Metros and do what they were instructed to do, they combine on an apparent winner. Or not. The Revs start pumping one ball after another into the Metro box, and wouldn't you know it, they finally connect on one. Khano Smith curves a cross into the goal and Taylor Twellman scores on a fabulous header. The Revs are just getting started.

Scoring Summary:
CHI -- Jesse Marsch 1 (penalty kick) 55
MET -- John Wolyniec 2 (Amado Guevara 4) 76
MET -- Amado Guevara 5 (Abbe Ibrahim 3) 93+

A true Hail Mary from Amado Guevara. On the final play of the game, Zach Wells sends a long one upfield. It's chased down by Samuel Caballero, but Abbe Ibrahim is able to poke it away. Guevara gathers outside the box, looks up and hits the far upper corner with as good a shot as you'll see. Miraculous.

Scoring Summary:
LA -- Michael Enfield 1 (Herculez Gomez 1, Todd Dunivant 2) 87
NE -- Andy Dorman 2 (Shalrie Joseph 3, Taylor Twellman 4) 94+

Galaxy substitute Michael Enfield is literally warming up his vocal cords for the postgame hero interview when Andy Dorman earns the Revs a draw. The Galaxy, by the way, have become the anti-Revs. Stoppage time is their enemy.

7. July 04, 2005 -- Rice-Eccles Stadium

Scoring Summary:
MET -- Ante Razov 4 (unassisted) 44
MET -- Mike Magee 1 (Eddie Gaven 4, Ante Razov 2) 48
RSL -- Seth Trembly 2 (Leslie Fitzpatrick 1) 78
RSL -- Jason Kreis 6 (penalty kick) 90

There was no TV for this game, so I attempted to listen to the game on the internet. Let's just say, I'm still confused about what happened. Anyway, RSL gets a controversial penalty call (I later saw some grainy highlights) and Jason Kreis earns the expansion boys a point at home.

Scoring Summary:
DAL -- Arturo Alvarez 2 (unassisted) 7
NE -- Taylor Twellman 7 (Pat Noonan 2) 44
DAL -- Ronnie O'Brien 6 (Arturo Alvarez 3) 46+
NE -- Taylor Twellman 8 (Clint Dempsey 8) 90
NE -- Taylor Twellman 9 (Shalrie Joseph 4) 92+

There's Twellman again, scoring not one, but two goals after 90 minutes to lead the Revs to a come-from-behind victory against FC Dallas at The Razor. Although it's only July, you have to like the Revs' karma. Is this The Year?

5. July 20, 2005 -- Columbus Crew Stadium
(

)

Scoring Summary:
CLB -- Jamal Sutton 1 (Marcus Storey 1, Knox Cameron 1) 92+

The Robert Warzycha era gets underway in dramatic fashion as one of the new coach's first substitutions (Marcus Storey) pays huge dividends. Again, the MetroStars fail to kill a game, and the Crew make the final combination pay off. Storey gathers a loose ball, feeds Knox Cameron who pulls Tony Meola off his line, then lays the ball back to Storey, who hits an empty net for the winner.

Scoring Summary:
DC -- Freddy Adu 2 (unassisted) 92+

A deflected Freddy rocket answers the prayers of the ESPN2 crew, who were digging deep into the story well before The Kid connected on a deflected bomb to break up a scoreless deadlock.

3. August 21, 2005 -- Giants Stadium
(

Scoring Summary:
MET -- Amado Guevara 7 (penalty kick) 5
CHV -- Juan Francisco Palencia 1 (Douglas Sequeira 1, Orlando Perez 3) 17
CHV -- Juan Francisco Palencia 2 (unassisted) 22
CHV -- Juan Pablo Garcia 1 (Arturo Torres 1) 39
MET -- Amado Guevara 8 (penalty kick) 69
MET -- Amado Guevara 9 (Youri Djorkaeff 5) 94+

Once again, it's down to the final strike of the ball at the Meadowlands and everyone is waiting to see if Youri Djorkaeff can nail a free kick from 30 yards. Instead, YD rolls the ball left on the field turf to Guevara, who hits another one of those curling shots to the far upper corner. The MetroStars deny Chivas USA their first-ever road victory.

DC -- Santino Quaranta 4 (Christian Gomez 7, Ben Olsen 3) 36 NE -- own goal (Bobby Boswell) 48 NE -- Taylor Twellman 11 (Andy Dorman 5, Pat Noonan 3) 90+

Ho hum, Revs win another one in stoppage time ... again it's Twellman on a header that looks a shade offside to me, but hey, when you're hot you're hot.

Scoring Summary:
CHI -- Chris Rolfe 6 (Chad Barrett 2, Justin Mapp 8) 11
LA -- Herculez Gomez 5 (Ned Grabavoy 1) 24
CHI -- Justin Mapp 3 (Will John 1) 90+

My vote (do I get a vote?) for Goal of the Year. Lke the John Wolyniec goal of '03 (Criminal it was not GOTY), this one had all the elements. Tie game, Chicago really needing three points, and off goes Justin Mapp on a solo mission. Later on, Galaxy coach Steve Sampson will wonder why someone didn't just foul him. Maybe because they couldn't catch him. Mapp finishes off the best individual effort golazo in MLS since the days of Peter Nowak with a sweet left-footed shot inside the far post. Magical.
