Fire history vs. Rapids
Chicago holds an 11-6-3 advantage in regular season contests against the Rapids, which includes a current five-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) -- the longest in the series. Wednesday's match will be the second of three contests between the Fire and Rapids in 2004, but it will mark the only meeting between the two sides in Denver. A Nate Jaqua goal in the 66th minute would be all the scoring in the first match-up between the two teams, a 1-0 Fire win at Soldier Field on May 29. The Fire and Colorado will wrap up their season series next month when the Fire welcomes the Rapids to Soldier Field on Aug. 14.

Quick kicks vs. Rapids

  • While Colorado's offense at home has struggled, scoring a League-low six home goals this season (0.67 per game), its defense has been up to the task, allowing an MLS-best four goals in their nine home matches (0.44 per game). Chicago averages 0.89 goals on the road this season.

  • In regular season play, the Fire has nearly doubled Colorado's goal output, outscoring the Rapids 41-23 in their 20 contests.

  • Injured Fire forward Ante Razov is the Fire's all-time leading scorer against the Rapids with 18 points on eight goals and two assists in 16 games. Among the Fire players available for Dave Sarachan on Wednesday, midfielder Chris Armas's eight points (3g, 2a) in 14 games leads the way.
