FC Dallas announces European leg of preseason schedule

DALLAS - FC Dallas today announced the European leg of its 2006 preseason schedule. The team will play a total of five games during its two-week trip to La Manga, Spain and Southampton, England. Colin Clarke and Co. will depart for Spain from DFW Airport on Thursday, March 2 and will return 14 days later on Thursday, March 16.


After playing their final February preseason game against SMU on Tuesday at Pizza Hut Park, the Hoops will have Wednesday off before departing for Spain on American Airlines on Thursday, March 2. They will hold their first training session at the La Manga Club on Friday and will play their first of three games there on Sunday, March 5 against Molde of the Norwegian Tippeligaen. Two days later Colin Clarke's side will take on recently promoted Sandefjord before wrapping up its stay in Spain with a game against Stabäk on Thursday, March 9.


The team will depart for England on Friday, March 10 and is scheduled to play two games during its time there. The Hoops will be based in Southampton, a city located about 90 minutes from London, on the South Coast of the country. They will spend seven days at the Meon Valley Marriott in Southampton before returning to the Metroplex on Thursday, March 16.
