FC Dallas 1, Galaxy 0 -- quote sheet

FC DALLAS 1, LOS ANGELES GALAXY 0

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On tonight's win:
"I thought we played very, very well. We created a lot of chances and pulled them apart at times. We have to learn to kill teams off. They ended up hanging around and could have very easily tied this game. It was the first Dallas night that was hot, humid and sticky and I thought we coped with it very well. In the first half, we stepped up and were close to them by putting a lot of pressure on them. It was a good result."

On tonight's close result:
"We have to be better, definitely. We have to put the game away and we can't leave teams hanging around because it will hurt you. We weren't good at getting those second and third goals and finishing this match. I'm sure it was great to watch from a spectator's point of view, but we have to be more professional out there."

FC DALLAS DEFENDER DREW MOOR

On first career MLS start:
"I feel great; I think it was the perfect time to start my first game. I had played in six or seven games up to this point and I am glad that I have this under my belt. It's a lot different starting the match than coming off the match as a sub. It felt good to be able to get out there and be involved in the match right away."

On returning home after the long road trip:
"It feels awesome to be back home. We did such a great job on the road and we knew that through the first half of the season, we would be on the road a lot. We knew we would go through some hard times but being on top of the league after all that is a great feeling."

FC DALLAS MIDFIELDER SIMO VALAKARI

On tonight's win:
"It was a great result. If you allow teams to hang around and don't put them away, they can come back to bite you. But, it still feels good to add three points. I'm proud of the way the boys played tonight."

On returning to the Cotton Bowl:
"It's been a long run on the road and it's great to be back in front of the home fans. I'm glad we were able to entertain our fans with a 1-0 win tonight."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH STEVE SAMPSON

On road woes:
"We'll evaluate that tomorrow or the next day. We have until Wednesday to prepare for Salt Lake. Those are going to be three important points for us. I thought we played well in the second half and created some great chances. I think we'll find it, it just takes some time."

On factors during the loss:
"I thought Ronnie O'Brien played exceptionally well. He is so dominant in the midfield and is one of the best players that this league has ever had. Obviously, we can't give up mistakes like we gave up tonight. We expect to beat good teams and will sure things up in the back and not make those kind of mistakes."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY GOALKEEPER KEVIN HARTMAN

On tonight's loss:
"It's been a disappointing week for us. There are still some things that we need to take care of. In the second half, we were a lot more proud of the way we played. We moved the ball well and made a few good practical changes in the lineup and I thought the second half was better."

On Wednesday's match at Real Salt Lake:
"At this point, every game is us trying to improve and get back to where we need to be. We look forward to starting a solid lineup and getting a positive result against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday. Hopefully, we will rectify the loss we had the last time we played them."

On the upcoming stretch of games:
"I think before the game they announced that Dallas was 3-2-2 on their road swing that they just got back from. Everybody considers that very impressive and we're going to have to do similar things if we want to stick with them."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD HERCULEZ GOMEZ

On the match:
"It was interesting. I thought we started off a little shaky and once we established a rhythm, things started going our way. We have to get back to the training pitch and work at it and make things happen."
