Disciplinary Committee fines RSL's Mathis

Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee announced Thursday that Real Salt Lake midfielder Clint Mathis has been fined $1000 for his actions in the 87th minute of Real's 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday, April 9, 2005.

Mathis received a yellow card in the closing stages of last Saturday's game after committing a foul ( 56K|384K) on Galaxy defender Ugo Ihemelu. After review, the MLS Disciplinary Committee issued the fine against the 28 year-old due to the reckless nature of the foul.
