D.C. United named as finalist for PRISM AWARDS

Washington, D.C. - D.C. United has been named as one of three finalists for the PRISM AWARDS, which are awarded to professional sport franchises that demonstrate industry-leading excellence and innovation in sport franchise management. Given by the University of Massachusetts' Department of Sport Management, United is being considered for the award with the St. Louis Rams (NFL) and the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL). The winner is expected to be named later in the spring.

"To be named as a finalist for this prestigious award is both an honor and a testament to the hard work our front office staff puts in each day," said United Vice President Stephen Zack.

United was also a finalist in 2005 for the annual award, which is presented to the major league team that best exemplifies the PRISM ideals across five criteria: Strategic planning, innovative marketing, community relations, customer service and employee relations.</p>
