D.C. UNITED HEAD COACH PETER NOWAK
On the game:
"This was a very good game for us. It was a different kind of play which is good to play against at this time of the season. Many of the guys were able to get some good playing time. Kevin (Ara) was able to good amount of time on the playing field."
D.C. UNITED FORWARD SANTINO QUARANTA
On his first game back from injury:
"I think, more than anything else, I was just really excited to play. To be honest, I was a little nervous, but it feels good to be back in the game. It made me realize how much I miss it and it's a great feeling to be back on the field."
D.C. UNITED GOALKEEPER NICK RIMANDO
On the team's overall performance:
"I think we played well. We definitely had a lot of chances and should have capitalized on more. But overall, we meshed well together and I was happy (with) the way we played."
On his two saves in the shootout:
"Well, obviously PK's are always difficult for 'keepers. I sort of had to guess on most of them. I probably could have gotten the first one, but it went under my arm. On the other two, it was part luck, but I think they were good saves and I'm glad we were able to win the game."
D.C. UNITED MIDFIELDER KEVIN ARA
On the team's performance and seeing significant playing time:
"First of all, we wanted to win. Even though it's an exhibition, every game is important. We got a chance to see a lot of guys out there tonight. We hit the post two or three times and probably should have scored more. Our finishing will come though - some days you're on, some days you're off. I was able to see a lot of minutes tonight and I think I played well."
NOTTINGHAM FOREST HEAD COACH JOE KINNEAR
On the game:
"I thought we did very well tonight considering that this is our first game. We did not come out with many injuries and that is all that matters."
"A lot of our players are off playing for other teams right now so a lot of other players got good playing time."
"I would like our team to come back here in January and play again after we have a few games under our belts."
On D.C. United:
"I thought the team played well tonight as there are a lot of impressive players. In fact, I would like to take a few of them home with me."
On Freddy Adu:
"We did not see much of the superstar tonight. Granted, he is only a baby, but in when he gets older, with more practice, he will be an excellent player."
On the conditions:
"Practicing here is good for us because it gets us in shape. We start at 9 a.m. and by 10 it is already very hot."
