Crew to give tickets to families of deployed servicemen and women from Wright-Patterson AFB on Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Crew General Manager Mark McCullers announced today that The Crew is giving tickets to family members of deployed servicemen and women from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) for Saturday's (September 17) game vs. the Chicago Fire. Kickoff at Crew Stadium is 7:30 p.m. (ET).

Military personnel from WPAFB have been deployed to The Middle East, Europe, and Cuba, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"The Columbus Crew is proud to make available complimentary tickets to the family members of deployed servicemen and women," said McCullers. "These Airmen, Marines, Soldiers and Sailors provide so much to the American people that we can only hope to provide a few hours of entertainment to the families of the people who have volunteered to interrupt their lives in order to keep America's security, and that this gesture begins to express our gratitude."

Wright-Patterson AFB is located in Fairborn, Ohio, and is one of the largest and most important bases in the United States Air Force. It has a workforce numbering approximately 22,000 people, making it the fifth largest employer in the state of Ohio and the largest employer at a single location. Nearly 10,000 of those people are civilians.

Crew account executive Benjamin Middlesworth is a member of the Air Force Reserve at WPAFB, as a Senior Airman in the 87th Ariel Port Squadron.

Saturday's game will be televised nationally on HDNet, in high definition. It can be heard in English on 103.9, TED-FM, or in Spanish on AM-1550, Radio Sol. It can also be heard in English and Spanish on-line at TheCrew.com and MLSnet.com.

The Crew (9-13-3, 30 pts.) is 5-3-1 under Interim Head Coach Robert Warzycha after losing to the New England Revolution, 3-1, on the road in Foxboro on Saturday. Chicago (13-10-3, 42 pts.) sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference after a 2-1 victory over the L.A. Galaxy on the road on Sunday, September 4.
